Ohio State’s defense was expected to get a boost in the return of star defensive end Noah Spence on Saturday, but Spence will stay sidelined.
"Ohio State junior Noah Spence is ineligible to play for the Buckeyes tomorrow against Kent State due to a university and Big Ten Conference rule infringement," Ohio State declared in a statement. & quot;Ohio State as well as the Spence family will continue to utilize the Big Ten until there is final resolution to the issue."
Spence has again failed a drug test, in accordance with the Columbus Dispatch, and Spence’s parents say he is seeking treatment to get a medical illness.
"We love him dearly, as well as our focus will be to get him the greatest medical attention we can," Greg and Helen Spence wrote in a e-mail, based on The Dispatch. & quot;we’re optimistic that Noah can get healthy and, sooner or later, restart his profession together with the Buckeyes."
