As much as LSU head coach Les Miles continues to be coy about his plans for the quarterback position, there was nothing coy about how he used the pair of Brandon Harris and Anthony Jennings on Saturday night.
The freshman Harris, by every sign, is taking on the task.
Harris completed 11 of 14 passes for 178 yards, including three touchdowns, in a 63-7 trouncing of New Mexico State. He also added 36 yards rushing and two more touchdowns to the floor, flashing the kind of double-threat ability that made him a four star recruit rated as the country ‘s No. 5 quarterback out of high school.
Jennings definitely did his part to terminate the contest, throwing as many interceptions (two) as he’d ends. Jennings, a sophomore, has started every match this year, including Saturday, but Miles never created him as the clear choice in the position. Now, it seems Harris is the clear choice.
