The NFL Players Association has scheduled a vote on a new drug policy for Friday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, according to a source informed of the potential new deal. Representatives from all 32 teams will vote on the potential policy.
A new drug deal, if agreed upon, would bring back players who tested positive for amphetamines such as Wes Welker, Orlando Scandrick, Dion Jordan and others, per Rapoport.
NFLPA spokesperson George Atallah tweeted late Thursday that "NFLPA Player Representatives have been asked to set aside time tomorrow to review and potentially vote on new drug policies."
Rapoport adds that both sides are being cautious with a proposed deal and it’s no sure thing, per sources on both sides.
